What a great night out at Bogey’s in Gresham last night!! It was laid back and everyone had a great time… at least after the first few minutes… when I thought I might actually get my ass kicked! Yes, I being me, made a joke, about the fondness between Gresham and Portland… and an older gentleman (who obviously didn’t get the joke in the first place and wasn’t quite sure what this whole pub quiz crap was anyway) immediately took offence…

Yep, three minutes into the quiz and I get told that ‘You had better cut that crap out buddy!!!” as he stands up from his chair and points a finger at me. (Usually it at least takes five minutes for me to get a reaction like that!!! LOL!!) Well I immediately apologized and managed to continue bingo and survived the next ten minutes under his hateful gaze until he finished his beer and left… Whew! It was close!!

After the ‘misunderstander’ left though everyone breathed a sigh of relief… at least I did… and we got down to a great quiz!! We had a visiting team from N. Portland make the trip out to the Gresh.. ‘Smokin’ Aces’ showed that they can quiz with anyone… at least until the final question that is… HAHAHA! (just kidding guys!) it was in the final question that the local Bogey’s teams flexed their muscle and forced ‘The Aces’ out of the money!! 

The experience and wisdom of Team ‘Bogey’s’ prevailed as they took the first prize and ‘Liquid Inspiration’ came in second. ‘Shuggy’s’ battled all night but also fell a little short at the end of the night.

We had a great debate on whether the Joan of Arc Statue was really in SE and after looking it up on a very helpful lady’s phone we found out that it is actually in the NE! I drive around that damn statue several times a week after picking up my wife at Providence where she works and I would have bet all my money that it was in the SE… unfortunately the street signs don’t agree with me!!! LOL!! (Maybe that’s why my wife won’t let me gamble anymore!!!)
