What a night last night!! First of all we keep setting attendance records each and every week!! Thank You Guys!!! With 33 people last night we almost reached a milestone… well ok, I reached into my deep quizmaster pockets and threw in a bonus buck… and POOF… we had a triple digit pot!!
That’s right we’re not just playing for peanuts anymore over in North Portland… no sir… we’re in it for the money now folks… Big Time!! 100 bucks was split between the winning teams last night… and let me say it was nice to hand out some big time cash!!
I have to give props to team ‘Amberg’, they missed the final round by only two points!!! Adding insult to injury when they challenged a song on the Fire song sheet and were awarded a correct answer for saying that Busta Rhymes had a song called ‘Fire it Up’, it looked like they might just pass ‘The Nelson 5′ to get into the final round. But then came a challenge from ‘The 5′ about another answer on the Song sheet… and they were also correct that Fastway had a song called ‘All fired up’ as well, thus pushing out ‘Amberg’ from the final round again! Ouch! Don’t worry, revenge is sweet my friends!!!
A fairly new arrival to our venue ’Go Time’ ended up taking 1st place, after winning the Red Hots and Hot Tamales by crushing the competition in the handout rounds. Yes, they did win with only 40 pts on the Fire song handout (Tough!) … but a win is a win! ‘The Nelson Five’ edged out perienniel ‘Smoking Aces’ to take 2nd… but when the pot’s that big, 2nd is nothing to sneeze at!!
We also had another person decide to spend a part of their birthday with us last night, Happy Birthday Tamisha!!! I hope it was a great one!!!
All in all I just want to say thanks to the folks at Portsmouth and all of the folks who have come out and helped make Tue. nights at Portsmouth Pizza and Pub into the success it’s become!! We’re not stopping … o no… now that we know it can be done… we’ve got out eyes on a $200 pot!! I know we can do it!!!

It’s was smoking at Portsmouth… we were all lit… ‘Go Time’ had a fire in their belly and ‘Smokin Aces’ ended up getting burned. I was looking hot, as always, and of course warmed up the crowd.
There were no major flare-ups and stoking the coals, I toasted the winners of each round in order to let the flame of competition, which enveloped the other teams, smolder a little.
With Burning desire and fiery determination we finally had a winner and the losing teams ran out of there like their asses were on fire and their heads were catchin’.
It was frickin’ Hot!!!
