Archimedes philosopher Socrates something or other soccer player Monty Python dressed up person

Just read Quizmaster Dave’s Green Dragon post about the Archimedes philosopher Socrates something or other soccer player Monty Python dressed up person. And I just wanted to say that I TOO had a Archimedes philosopher Socrates something or other soccer player Monty Python dressed up person at the Maiden tonight. I was impressed, but unfortunately I know virtually nothing about the Monty Python world, and so couldn’t appreciate the joke like Dave could. I know what she was because she told me. Still, kudos for the effort, Archimedes philosopher Socrates something or other soccer player Monty Python dressed up person.

My only memory of Monty Python… stuff… is from the Holy Grail one, when the guys get to this place where it’s all women and all the women want to do is spank them (I think… right?) and for some reason they can’t stick around even though the place is clearly heterosexual paradise, and then right when they are about to leave one of the women says something about oral sex as well. I know there’s some joke there that makes that scenario actually funny but I don’t remember it. So, yeah, I’m not the best person you could have chosen to play the quiz tonight. Fortunately I was merely hosting it, and while I’m incapable of remembering a single, specific detail about Monty Python, I’m more than capable of reading questions into a microphone about Monty Python. And so a good time was had by all.

Thanks to Adam from Cattle Prodigy (who wanted me to tell y’all that he WOULD have been on another team tonight, the Fun Brags, but was ostracized for being “not girly enough”) for his soulful (read: extremely loud in a quiet and romantic bar) rendition of The Philosophers Drinking Song. And thanks to Quinton from the Sirens of Titan for his slightly less soulful (read: mercifully quieter) rendition of The Universe Song from The Meaning of Life. And thanks to all the other folks who sang or performed bits from Monty Python tonight. I’ll take your word for it that it was indeed what you said it was.
