Packed at the Bridgeport for da GREEN Theme

Michelle was out ill on Tuesday night at the ‘port, so I filled in for her. We had a lively bunch of 80 people tonight for our Earth Day pub quiz. Who knew that the biggest desert technically is Antarctica? (Biggest HOT desert being the Sahara) We had a lot of people bringing in reusable grocery bags…. thanks to all those who went out and got them for the bonus points, for that was exactly why we made it the bonus point op! Now we’ve got people actually using reusable bags out there. Pub Quizzing has actually done something good for the environment! We oughta make a NEW bumper sticker that says “Pub Quiz: Good for Mother Earth“. heh heh

The Bingo winning team, State of Confusion, held on to a mighty lead most of the quiz. Our “This Day in History” round was rather easy for most folks, compared to the challenging handout that asked just how much in the way of resources is wasted, say, when you leave the tap running while brushing your teeth. Teams got a kick out of our “Great Movie Villains” handout (so WHAT if there were two baddies in Silence of the Lambs!). Scoobys Red Rocket had the last laugh by placing first (again!), even though most of their team was missing! Michael & Sharon are forces to be rekoned with.

Until tonight, at the Thirsty Lion…

80 people?? Wow, I’m glad to see things picking back up. We were getting worried. Thanks again for filling in - I bet people were glad to see you again!
