When I walked in I was a bit stunned to already see a packed house at The Maiden. Our cozy venue was packed to the hilt with Quizzy-eyed faces.
First of all congrats and happy wishes to our celebrants of the night. Nicole brought her birthday party to the quiz (thanks for quiz-artying with us! Nicole’s Nymphs did rather well I must add) - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And half of Team Harcore, Mike and Jenny, are getting hitched this weekend. HAPPY WEDDING!
Next, since we had a mix of new folks and veteran quizzers, there wasn’t too much rumbling about our new rules about not taking any money. For more on that, especially if you have any feedback, see Alisa’s post here. The Maiden was kind enough to provide a nice prize for our 1st place team.
So with all those lovely sentiments the house was pretty raucous. Apologies for the couple of teams who had to wait for additional handouts. I didn’t expect so many teams and came up a bit short. It didn’t seem to hinder folks though since two of the teams who had to wait were in the final challenge.
Mostly Confused took the early lead with an excellent showing in the Bingo Round. The Schoolers (great name for a bunch of teachers) also did well with a Bingo bonus. The next bunch of teams rallied back and forth the rest of the game for the top spots - birthday girl Nicole’s Nymphs, 31 is too old (cruel friends of birthday girl ;-), Team Hardcore, Muddled Daughters and Team Without Dan (aka Mostly Confused Team B).
In the end, the teams that made the Final Challenge round:
Mostly Confused
31 is too old
Muddled Daughters
Smart teams! Everyone got the final challenge round question correct. The champion for the evening -
MOSTLY CONFUSED
CONGRATS! Thanks to all the teams for your enthusiasm. I would give you all a Spirit Award!
See you next week.
