A bunch of folks told me that Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was their favorite drug movie last night. The one thing I have to say about that is, aside from the drug-riddled aspect of the movie, the big thing about that movie is that it kind ruined Johnny Depp for me. I’ve always had a huge Johnny crush, but having to see the chicken legs on him in that film killed it for me. Not to mention poor Benecio del Toro, who I also adored, who looked totally icky. Anyhoo, I digress.
Good fun night at CC Slaughters. Thanks to all for coming back from your Pub Quiz vacation! We had a nice full house of regulars and newbies, all of whom made a very nice showing.
The excitement began right away in the Bingo round. After grading round 1, we played Bingo. As I read one of the answers over half the room screamed out BINGO!!! Now, this has happened to me before, but a couple of the folks had the same Bingo sheet. This time, each of the 4 teams who got Bingo had different Bingo cards. Crazy! So we did the fair thing and split it four ways. Yes, we had 1/2 points.
Round 2’s Quizlinks went swimmingly. It’s definitely a favorite round 2 at CCs, from the excitement I saw. Lots of folks got very close, but in the end, Salad Daze pulled off a perfect score.
The handouts were tough and I overlooked a mistake in my grading sheet. No, I’m not a dope dealer, but I do know the difference between Snow and Ice, yo. Thanks for only ridiculing me slightly on that point.
With that, Salad Daze, Army of Skanks and Charo’s Angels ended up in the final challenge round. And with the easy Timothy Leary question it was down to the wagers.
Salad Daze took home the glory by 1 point!
Army of Skanks held 2nd place!
