It was a joy to cover for the lovely Ms. Toni at CC Slaughter’s last night. Carmen Miranda was everywhere when I arrived and CC’s once again came though with AWESOMEswag for our Pub Quizzers including t-shirts, aporns, tiara’s AND two complete DVD box sets of the fabled Carmen Miranda’s work!!! Frickin’ awesome.

It was a battle of the CC heavyweights last night as we had ‘The Streeps’, ‘Army of Skanks’ (My favorite team name at the moment by the way…. it just makes me giggle when I say it… and I learned the movie that it references last night!) and the formidable ‘Charro’s Angels’ (coochie-coochie) who showed up waving their bonus points proudly.

We had a great time playing ‘the RD 2 in the style of that other game show’… with members of ‘The Streeps’ using their telepathy powers for evil and actually writing down a correct answer to a question before I even asked it!!! Now that’s impressive!!! (Although how many carnival foods can there really be??? Hehe)  ’The Streeps’ also nailed the daily doubles and took RD 2… but with a timid wager in the final round came up short of the money… but did go home with those great DVD sets.

And in the end it was only one point which seperated the overall winner and the runner up. Using a well thought-out betting strategy ‘Charro’s Angels’ came out on top of ‘Army of Skanks’ and took the largest share of the pot.
